CAF women Champions league qualifiers: She Corporates bow out fighting in loss to Simba Queens

The reigning FUFA women super League champions She Corporates saw their journey in the CAF women champions League come to an end as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss against Simba Queens at Chamazi sports complex.

A second half early penalty from Vivian Corazone in the 46th minute of the game was just enough as Simba Queens won the final to represent the CECAFA region in the champions league which will be held in Morocco.

She Corporates started well in the game limiting the creativity of Simba Queens as they forced them to play from wide which saw the first stanza end in a goalless draw.

With just a minute back for the second half, She Corporate right back Nakate commited a foul on Asha Djafari in the forbidden area and Vivian converted from the spot to give Simba Queens a lead.

Simba Queens defended brilliantly with the support from the fans they managed to maintain a 1-0 win till the last breath.

Simba Queens will represent the CECAFA region in the CAF women champions League and they walked away with a prize money of 30,000 USD for winning the regional qualifiers tournament.

She Corporates who finished second will pick a lot of positives as they head back home to prepare for the start of the new league season, they were awarded silver medals and 20,000 USD.

CBE FC from Ethiopia defeated AS Kigali 3-1 in the third place play off as they claiming a prize money of 10,000 USD.
