Express FC duo of head coach Alex Isabirye and Isaac Wagoina have been voted the best in the month of December at the Uganda Premier League monthly Awards.
The pair received their plaques and cash at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala on Wednesday evening
Isabirye managed four wins out of the five games played saw off competition from Maroons head coach Mohamed Ssenfuma and Brian Ssenyondo of Kitara.
“I thank God who has guided me to win this accolade, I would like to thank a team of hardworking players and the staff I work with for they have been there in this journey.” Said Alex Isabirye
“After winning the coach of the year last season, I took a break and I just came back to coaching last month at Express FC and it’s just the beginning as we return for the second round of the league I promise to help my club to a better finish.” He added.
For the player of the month, Isaac Wagoina who managed to score four goals and an assist in five games was crowned ahead of Paul Mucureezi and Alex Emmanuel Wasswa.
Wagoina thanked his coach Alex Isabirye and the fans who have been with a massive support in the first round of the league.
“I would like to thank the mighty lord who has guided me to win this award, the fans have been massive with the support in the first round but mostly I thank my coach who has instilled a fighting spirit in me. This has helped me to score the goals and more are coming.” Said Isaac Wagoina.
