SUPL: Busoga United FC stun Kitara FC to move out of relegation

SC Villa 3-0 UPDF FC – Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.

Mbarara City FC 2-1 Wakiso Giants – Kakyeka Stadium.

Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0 Maroons FC – Kavumba Recreation Grounds.

Busoga United FC entered the new year 2024 in style after edging the royals of Bunyoro (Kitara FC) on a 2-1 score at their home FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

In a game where Busoga United came on a poor form, it was glad to their side as the boys displayed a performance worthy three points.

Busoga United took the lead first through Jeremy Matata in the 14th minute.

Kitara FC levelled matters in second half through substitute Paul Mucureezi.

Minutes later, Emmanuel Ajo grabbed the winner for Busoga United FC.

A win for Busoga United saw them move from 14th place to 12th place on 15 points.

On the other hand, Kitara FC remained second on 26 points from 14 games.

Elsewhere SC Villa edged UPDF FC on a 3-0 score to move third on the Uganda Premier League log on 25 points.

UPDF FC were early reduced to 10 men after their goalkeeper Yusuf Wasswa was shown marching orders for handling the ball outside his box.

John Patrick Kakande scored a brace while Hakim Kiwanuka scored the other for the Jagoos.

At Kavumba Recreation Grounds, Soltilo Bright Stars edged Maroons FC on a 1-0 score thanks to the lonely goal from John Kokas.

At Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara City FC edged Wakiso Giants on a 2-1 score.

Joseph Akandwanaho and Henry Kitegenyi scored for Mbarara City FC while Tom Matsiko scored for Wakiso Giants.

Action resumes on Wednesday 3rd as Arua hills SC will be welcoming Express FC at Paridi Stadium.

Gaddafi FC will be hosting table leaders BUL FC at Gaddafi Arena while Vipers will be hosting NEC FC at St Mary’s Kitende.
