Winner takes it all as Uganda Boxing Champions League hits climax

The  second season of the Uganda Boxing Champions League is set to hit its climax with the finals talking place on the 26th December at UMA show grounds.

In the winner takes it all belt battles, the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) alongside its partners TopBoy promotions they are delighted to organise 32 bouts on the night which will see the main fight between Kimbugwe Broline as he takes on Ssemuddu Muzamir for the light Middle weight belt.

After the weigh-ins on Monday morning at the UMA show grounds, Ssemuddu promised to Take Over without negotiation;

“As Mr Take Over am going to take over without negotiation, all I want do present the best of the best to my fans I call them up all to come have fun and enjoy themselves as we take the belt.” Ssemuddu said

On the other side, Kimbugwe said he has worked on his tactics;

“I am the best in this business and have come along way therefore Tuesday will be my day to showcase what I have in my tank.”

“Of late have been working on some tactics and surely know have perfected so I only look forward to taking the belt home with my fans.” Broline concluded 

Away from the fights, there will be more entertainment from Akadope band to cool off the heat and also help the boxers enter the ring in style.

Just after the weigh in and face offs, Touchline sports had a chat with the Uganda Boxing Federation Vice President Sula Kamoga who promised quality and top notch security for the revealers;

“We are finalizing with tomorrow’s event on 26th December and we are ready. The gates will open at exactly 1pm and the first bout will start at 2pm out of the total 31.” he said 

Adding that, “We also have a band and some surprise acts that will escort out boxers to the ring.”

“A revealer should expect quality from the first bout to the last remember these are the finals so expect to watch cream de la cream from the youth to elites”

“On the security issue, we are going to be guarded by Uganda Police, the military and different bouncers” he concluded

On behalf of Top boy promotions, Philip Munaabi clarified on the reasons why they had to change the venue;

“We changed the venue because wanted to accommodate more people, UMA can handle 2000 people without anything else compared to the 850 in the NCS Arena.”

“The other reason we are here is because this place’s security is manageable not forgetting that it’s enclosed.”

“At the previous season one finals we were disturbed by the rain but this will help us a lot no matter the weather.”he added

“This season we have attracted a number of cooperates and this time round our guest of honor will be Hajjat Hadija Namyalo of ONC so we have to beef up the security.”

“For provision, Incase the numbers escalate we have put a screen on the right side of the hall and our broadcast patner has also done the same but inside the hall too will have screens.” Munaabi concluded

The tickets will go for 20K Ordinary, VIP 50K, VVIP 100K and TABLES 1M.
