Uganda National Kabaddi Women team captain Olivia Nalubega expressed her gratitude after winning her first individual award in the Kabaddi sport.
“I am so excited to have won theis months award from real star. I managed to have put up a great fight as I was crowned the MVP for the Africa Kabaddi women tournament, this has helped me so much to have beaten my opponents an win this award this month.” Said Olivia Nalubega.
Nalubega was crowned the Most Valuable Player in the just concluded Africa Women Kabaddi Championships where Uganda emerged the winners in Katalemwa.
“It is now a task ahead as I have to maintain the same performances so as to defend this award next month, I am now turning focus to training hard for the upcoming women national Kabaddi league.” Added Nalubega
In the other four disciplines rewarded, Husina Kobugabe was able to beat Brian Kasirye and Gladys Mbabazi in the category of Badminton.
For Rugby, Isaac Massangazira beat off competition from Kob’s Adrian Kasito and Heathens Aaron Ofoyrwoth after his contribution to the Rugby Cranes 7s team that finished third in the Mens Rugby 7s Africa Cup Zimbabwe.
In Ludo, Africa Ludo Cup of Nations Individual category Most Valuable Player and Gold medalist Emmanuel Mubiru edged both his Uganda Doves team mates Beth Nagadya and Henry Mayanja.
