Masaza Cup: Gomba eliminates Buddu as Bulemeezi shoots out Mawokota to storm finals

Monday 10th, October Second leg results

Buddu 0-1 Gomba aggregate (1-3).

Bulemeezi 4 (0-0) 2 Mawokota.

Record Champions of Masaza cup Gomba progressed to finals after edging Buddu on a 1-0 score in the return leg.

The first leg had ended in favour of Gomba on a 2-1 score and so Gomba advanced to finals on a 3-1 score.

Usual suspect Kenneth Kimera scored for Gomba at the beginning of second half.

The development saw Kimera reach four knock out goals in the ongoing Masaza Cup.

Elsewhere Bulemeezi needed a successful penalty shoot out of a 4-2 score to advance to finals.

Bulemeezi had played out a goalless draw with Mawokota after a 1-1 draw that both teams played out in the first round.

Bulemeezi will now be targeting their third successful final after 2012 and 2019 finals where they have won it.

Ibrahim Kirya who is also the head coach for Bulemeezi will be targeting to defend the Masaza Cup after winning it with Busiro last edition.

For Gomba, they have won it five times that is in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020.

Gomba and Bulemeezi will face off each other on 28th October as Mawokota will be battling Buddu for the third place playoff.
