University Football League: MUBS edge IUIU to register second win

MUBS University 1-0 IUIU.

The Nakawa based University MUBS edged Mbale based University IUIU to register second consecutive win in the ongoing Pepsi University Football League.

In a game where IUIU looked to be a better side, MUBS needed a penalty to secure a victory at home.

It was Thomas Lasu who took in the penalty for MUBS.

MUBS head coach William Kasozi revealed the importance of their win.

” We knew the importance of clinching three points heading into this match. Despite our challenges in scoring recently, which was evident today, we’re delighted with the outcome”.

Meanwhile IUIU head coach Haruna Keba revealed how his team played out their best despite not being with luck.

” It’s a tough loss. Our perfomances and the number of chances we had suggested we should’ve come out on top. We need to refine our decision-making near the goal and aim for a stronger showing next time”.

MUBS will next play Victoria University in their next game while IUIU will next play YMCA in Mbale in their next game.

Action resumes tomorrow on Thursday when Kyambogo will be playing Muni.
