Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC made a surprise visits when they edged Uganda Record Champions SC Villa in league opener.

In an exciting day, Ugandan music rapper Ziza Bafana first entertained the fans with his songs.

Kitara FC edged SC Villa 2-1 at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Kitara started the better side dominating and this paid off later in the 14th minute when Denis Omedi headed in from a well laid cross from Brian Aheebwa.

SC Villa who started poor, gained momentum as the game continued.

In the 43rd minute, Exciting Foward Charles Lwanga equalised for SC Villa after Kitara’s defenders failed to clear away the ball.

SC Villa could find the winner few minutes later but David Owori missed up a glorious chance.

Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic made some changes including Rogers and Hakim Kiwanuka who later forced Kitara’s custodian Crispus Kusiima.

With both teams destined for a draw, second half substitute Living Kabon scored late for Kitara and sent fans into wide celebrations.
