Kyetume FC chased from the Uganda Premier League

Newly promoted Mukono based football club Kyetume FC have been axed from the Uganda Premier League even before the 2022-2023 season gets underway.

The club who were returning to the top league tier after being relegated in the 2020-21 season on being relegated was pushed passed the FUFA Big League to the regional League.

This is after failure to register even a single player on the FUFA connect system. The club had been given up to 12th Friday August last week.

They however failed to meet this deadline which prompted FUFA to axe them.

Kyetume’s administration acknowledged their non compliance and revealed that the problem arose with the player’s passports.

They are however going to appeal the decision in the shortest time possible.

“Our issues have been with passports of the players,” Martin Namugera, the Club CEO admitted as per the-Sportsnation.

“We have until Monday to appeal to put everything in the right order,” he added in optimism.

The club now waits to see what will happen of their appeal.

SC Villa had almost a similar problem last season which was eventually sorted out with the Jogoos allowed to kickstart their campaign after a number of games had been played.
