The Fortebet Real Stars monthly awards for the month of August were held in a colourful awarding Ceremony was held at Lazio Restaurant in Lugogo on Tuesday Morning.
Among the sports awarded included Netball, Athletics, Football, Ludo, Boxing and Motorsport.
In Athletics, Victor Kiplangat was awarded the best in August after winning Uganda Gold in World Atheletics Championship Marathon in Budapest Hungary.
Victor Kiplagat won the award on the expense of fellow 10000m World Champion in Budapest Hungary Joshua Cheptegei as well as Stephen Kissa.
Victor Kiplagat was the first Ugandan to win Gold in World Atheletics Championship in Marathon eversince Stephen Kiprotich in 2014.
In Netball, She Cranes shooter Shadia Nassanga clinched the award after being brilliant in 2023 World Cup that was in South Africa.
Nassanga won the award on the expense of She Cranes mates Margaret Baagala and Mary Nuba.
The named Netball players above were all instrumental for She Cranes who finished 5th in World as well 1st in Africa.
In Boxing, Wasswa Ssali clinched the award, after winning silver medal in 2023 Africa Boxing Championship in Cameroon.
In Football, Kyaggwe Ssaza Striker Yusuf Mukwana won the award, the young Foward scored 5 goals in August though his Ssaza Kyaggwe didn’t reach quarter finals in Buganda Masaza 2023.
Yusuf Mukwana beat Kampala Queens’ Foward Fazila Ikwaput and Shakib Mayanja on the award.
In Ludo, Brian Balinya who won the 2023 Uganda Ludo Individual Championship beat Muhammed Kayaaya and Rose Nsereko to the award.
In Motorsport, the duo of Yasin Naser and Ali Katumba won the best of July after finishing first in the Masaka rally.
The duo won the August awards on the expense of other duos including Ponsiano Lwakataka and Paul Musaazi and the other of Jas Mangat and Kamya.
