Boxing Champions League: African Silver medalist Ssali to face Kaddu as he turns to the ring

A silver medalist in the just concluded African Boxing Championship which was held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Wasswa Ssali will be in the ring to prove his worth as he takes on Julius Kaddu in the light weight category as the Boxing Champions League commences on week 8 in Kamwokya at TLC courts.


Ssali is eager to represent Uganda in the Olympics despite not being considered on the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers that will be held in Senegal as per the list released by the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC).

“My dream is to become an Olympian, so i don’t have time for these Ugandan kids. Fighting against Kaddu it’s a no match for me.” Said Wasswa Ssali

“I have  worked on my mistakes which cost me the gold in Cameroon so it’s now time to prove Ugandans what I am good at.” He added.

The Sting Boxing Champions League week 9 returns this Saturday at TLC, Kamwokya with a number of bouts which include;

Samuel Nsubuga Vs Siraji Naziru – Junior Fly weight, 50kgs, 

Stephan vs Derrick Owori in Junior Welter weight, 66kgs

Shafick Matovu vs Brian Nkuruziza in Youth Bantam, 54kgs

Martin Mugabi vs Denis Muleme in Youth Light Welter weight, 63kgs

Nuhu Batte vs Victor Musana in Youth Welter weight, 67 kgs

Sharon Nayebare vs Muhammed Sauda in Youth Bantam weight, 54 kgs.

A boxing fan will need 20,000 for ordinary ticket, 50,000 for VIP ticket and 100,000 for VVIP ticket and a 50% discount on early bird tickets.
