CAF Women Champions league: Ikwaput nets hattrik to guide Kampala Queens to first win

Kampala Queens (Uganda) 3-0 Yei Joints ( South Sudan).

Fazila Ikwaput was the heroine on his debut at Kampala Queens when she scored an hattrick against Yei Joints Stars of South Sudan in CECAFA Qualifiers of CAF Women Champions league.

Kampala Queens started a better side that saw Fazila Ikwaput score her first goal in the 12th minute.

Hasifah Nassuna had set in for Ikwaput though defender Sumaya Malit who intercepted failed to clear.

Yei Joints Stars tried to hunt for an equaliser that saw Joanitor Naggayi and Matianah Nakato attempt but goalkeeper Daisy Nakiziro who was in the host’s posts was equal to the challenges.

Kampala Queens through Fazila Ikwaput scored the second one before halftime.

It was Hasifah Nassuna who played one two with Nakigozi who later delivered in for Ikwaput.

Kampala Queens could score the third through second half substitute Shakira Nyinagahirwa but goalkeeper Majok was equal to the challenge.

In the 68th minute, Yei Joints Stars couldnot withstand to concede the third.

Ikwaput calmly fired in following Shamira Nalugya’s strike that was saved by Majok.

The results meant Kampala Queens sit at top of group A with 3 points level with Ethiopian Giants’ Buja Queens who also defeated Buja Queens 2-1 in the opener.

Kampala Queens stand at top because of a superior goal difference.
