FUFA Super 8: BUL FC targets a positive result as they host holders Vipers

The Busoga region based side BUL FC will play hosts to Vipers in the FUFA Super 8 game today on 10th August 2023 at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

It will be a different showcase from the last season one when both teams still had coaches Alex Isabirye and Simon Masaba respectively, this time round Brazilian Leonard Martins as well Abbey Kikomeko will stand for Vipers and BUL FC respectively.

After replacing Simeon Masaba as the new BUL FC head coach, Abbey Bogere Kikomeko has set all his eyes on helping BUL FC to the super 8 silverware with a mission starting against Vipers.

He is confident of picking up a positive result against the 2022/2024 league and cup double Champions Vipers at home in Njeru.

“We are prepared and this is the time we are going to overcome them, eversince we took part in the super 8 we have never surpassed this stage but we are well prepared as our only target is to win this tittle.” Said Abbey Bogere Kikomeko.

“The boys are in good shape as we have no injuries in the camp, expect a positive result. We have managed to work on our defending and striking issues which has seen us bring in new forward players, they will play a vita role as we begin our tittle hunt against Vipers.” He added.

He went ahead to call upon all the fans to fill up Njeru as they support their team in the Region m

“I would like to call upon all football fans in Busoga region to come in big numbers and support BUL FC as it is the only club we have to support in our region.”

It will be the first competitive match for both teams as fans will be eager to to watch their new teams after a busy transfer window.

Statistically, Vipers comes into the game on upper hand.

In their last 26 meetings with BUL FC, Vipers SC have won 16, Drawn 7 and lost 2 to BUL FC.

From the 25 meetings, Vipers have scored 36 goals averaging 1.4 goals per game and conceded 17.

In their last meeting at FUFA Technical Center Njeru, Vipers needed a later penalty of Abdul Karim Watambala to cancel Samuel Ssekamatte’s early goal.

Vipers are the defending Champions of FUFA Super 8 having defeated KCCA 2-0 in 2019 when it was last staged
