Under the theme ‘Hitting for Health’ tackling hypertension with every boundary, Batball Uganda has launched the Batball X tournament which will climax the Batball series 2022/2023 season.
After a successful conclusion of the regional series, Batball Uganda in partnership with the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) will hold the Batball X tournament which will have the five regions present their best performing players to take part in the tournament alongside the Rwandeese U19 select team.
This transformative tournament identifies, accelerates, and empowers deserving young individuals to lead the future of cricket in Uganda.This thrilling event will witness five regions from Uganda – East, North, Nile, Central, and West – battling it out against each other. Joining them in this extraordinary journey will be a talented team from Rwanda, adding an international flair to the competition.
The tournament’s format ensures that each region and player have an equal chance to leave their mark and prove their mettle.Batball X has not forgotten its social responsibility either as this edition of the tournament is dedicated to “Creating awareness for Hypertension.”
By leveraging the power of cricket, Batball X will raise awareness about this pressing health issue, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
The fixtures for Batball X promise riveting matchups and thrilling contests with all games being played in a 10 Overs a side format. Group A, consisting of East, North, and Nile, will display their cricketing prowess at Jinja SS Oval. Meanwhile, Group B, featuring Rwanda, Central, and West, will take center stage at the renowned Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The Batball X tournament will start from the 15th to 22nd August with five regions taking part and it will be played at Lugogo Cricket Oval and the Jinja Cricket Oval.
The tournament’s climax will be the Super 4 stage, where the top two teams from each group will compete in adrenaline-pumping matches at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The battle will climax with a final, where the cricketing elite will vie for the prestigious Batball X championship title.
Batball X, the pinnacle of Ugandan cricket, emerges from the 2022/23 season of Batball Open regional tournaments, where the finest players unite to represent their regions. With its grassroots to global model, Batball X opens doors for aspiring cricketers, paving the way for their talent to shine on a national stage.
Batball X will be streamed live on batball.tv and other platforms, ensuring that fans and cricket enthusiasts from Uganda, Africa, and beyond can witness every breathtaking moment.
