The 2023 Masaza Cup tournament resumed with round two of the group stages over the weekend as Buwekula defeated Buddu 1-0 to register their second successive win at St Peters technical playgrounds.
Blanchar Mulumba scored the only goal that guided Buwekula to victory as he struck home from the penalty spot in the first half of the game.
Buwekula who won their first game against Kyadondo 1-0, away from home are now the table leaders in the Masengere group with 6 points.
At Buwama playgrounds, Mawokota continued to shine as they silenced off Gomba in a 1-0 win Infront of a mammoth crowd from both sides together keep a 100% winning run.
Calvin Peter Emayo scored from the penalty in the 30th minute with his only goal handing the hosts maximum points despite missing out on a couple of chances.
Having won their first game against defending champions Busiro (3-1), Mawokota now leads the group of Muganzirwaza with 6 points.
In other games, Bulemeezi played out a 1-1 draw with Bugerere at Ntenjeru Ssaza grounds.
Bulemeezi have now drawn their two games, a form leaving them in the 5th place with 2 points in Bulange group.
Kkokki played out a goalless draw with Kyaggwe at St James S.S Playgrounds in Kyotera.
Buluuli offered Kyadondo their second defeat in the tournament following their 1-0 win at St Lawrence Playground thanks to Justus Wasswa’s Strike.
