Crested Cranes to face Tanzania in an international friendly

The Uganda Women national team ‘Crested Cranes’ are yet to face the Tanzania Women team ‘ Twiga stars’ in an international friendly on Friday 7th at MTN Omondi Stadium.

Both Countries Uganda and Tanzania are in preparations for their respective Women’s Olympic football Tournament qualifiers.

Ayub Khalifa who is the head coach at Crested cranes revealed out how the team is ready and how important the game is before facing Rwanda

” We are ready for this game and fully aware of how important it is in our preparations “.

” Having a game of such magnitude against a very good team definitely helps us to know where we stand and what we need to improve before facing Rwanda”.

The Crested cranes will battle Rwanda in their first round qualifier of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Two legs will be played as the aggregate winner will progress through to the second qualification round to face Cameroon.

Ruth Aturo who is the captain for Crested cranes also expressed their readiness as a team ahead of Tanzania’s international friendly.

” As players, we are ready for the game against Tanzania tomorrow, this is definitely a good chance for us to play a friendly game before facing Rwanda because it helps us to know where to improve “.

” Tanzania is a good team with talented players. We have faced them in CECAFA and other engagements and l know we will have a good game “.

The Twiga stars are already citizens of Uganda having arrived in Uganda on Wednesday evening.

Tanzania will also use the International friendly game against Uganda to prepare for Botswana in the second qualification round.
