BIKA Football Tournament: Lugave held by NGO at Wakisha as Group stage games kickoff

The BIKA Football Tournament resumed with the group stage games kicking off at various stadiums. At the he Kabaka Kyabagu Stadium in Wakiso, favourites Lugave were held to a 1-1 draw against NGO clan.

Joseph Ssemujju put NGO ahead in the 14th minute with Ezekiel Katende scoring in the 24th minute for Lugave as they shared the points.

Lugavr dominated the first stanza of the game but they failed to capitalise on the chances created hence dropping points in their first group stage game. 

Bashir Mutanda missed from close range as he failed to put the Lugave clan infront with his powerful effort hitting the woodwork and the resulting counterattack for NGO being converted by Joseph Ssemujju in the 14th minute.

Lugave continued dominating the game and their efforts were rewarded in the 24th minute as Ezekiel Katende flicked a short corner by George Kaddu to level the scores.

The Lugave clan proved to be stronger than NGO with the experienced players they fielded but they were too wasteful infront of goal with the captain Brian Nkuubi missing from close range in the 43rd minute.

The second half was majorly dominated by NGO clan who gained confidence into the game with their key player Joseph Ssemujju giving a hard time to the SC Villa right back Kenneth Ssemakula in the left wing.

There moments of magic as Travis Mutyaba tried to dribble past a couple of legs and setting himself for a goal scoring opportunity but his effort was saved by the NGO goalkeeper.

The two teams will return to action on Wednesday 5th as Lugave will be playing at Wankulukuku Stadium with NGO playing at Kawanda.

The other game played at Wakisha ended in a goalless draw with Ngeye and Omutima Omusagi sharing the points in an early kickoff.
