URA FC 2-0 KCCA FC – Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.
SC Villa 0-1 Arua hills – Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Oduparaka 0-1 Soltilo Bright stars – Green light stadium, Arua.
UPDF 0-1 Vipers SC – Bombo Military Barracks Grounds.
Vipers slimly defeated UPDF 0-1 at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds to get closer on the Uganda Premier League table as both KCCA and SC Villa who were on were defeated.
The game came as early as in the 2nd minute when UPDF’ goalkeeper Were Pushed Karisa’s crosss into his own net.
The Visitors (Vipers) looked dominative but failed to create more chances that could earn them more goals.
Nigerian forward Abubakar Lawal had one to double the lead however his effort was cleared off the line by Christopher Kawagu.
UPDF’s scoring chance came late in the added time with Faridi Achumu Rashid coming with a bouncing header though Rogers Torach dealt with that responsibly.
The results took Vipers in the 3rd place with 35 points from 18 games only 8 points below the table leaders SC Villa and with more 4 games in hand.
On the other side, UPDF remained in 12th place with 22 points from 22 games.
UPDF will continue fighting for league survival on 25th Tuesday April as they will be Visiting Maroons at Prisons Grounds, Luzira.
On the other side, Vipers will continue battling for the title on 22nd April as they will be hosting URA at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
