SUPL Awards: Magera, Tamale crowned the best in February/March

SC Villa head coach Jackson Magera and Simon Tamale were awarded the best for the month of March. This was announced on Thursday evening at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo.

Jackson Magera saw off competition from URA FC head coach Sam Timbe and Maroons head coach Muhammad Ssenfuka to clinch his second consecutive award after winning December gong.

Magera guided SC Villa to a four games unbeaten run from March day 16 which saw them move to the top of the log surpassing KCCA FC.

SC Villa managed to avoid defeat with a 1-1 draw against Gaddafi FC before claiming a 2-1 win against Onduparaka and also a massive 1-0 victory against BUL FC before ending the month of 1-0 victory Busoga United.

For goalkeeper Simon Tamale,. he helped his side to an unbeaten run of three games where he managed to three clean sheets and two man of the match awards.

He saw off competition from Express FC forward Allan Kayiwa who managed to score 4goals and 1 assist from three games and Arua Hill forward Ronald Innocent Media who scored three goals and one assist.

Speaking at the Awarding evening, the UBL corporate relations manager Jackie Tahakanizibwa expressed their gratitude towards supporting local sports as she looked delighted to award the winners on the evening.

“We as Uganda Breweries we are so passionate about the Uganda Premier League and tonight we are so happy to be here as we are recognizing the player of the month and the coach of the month. There efforts are being rewarded and we hope to continue supporting local sports throughout all disciplines.” Said Jackie Tahakanizibwa.
