10man Express FC complete league double against Onduparaka

Express FC 4-1 Onduparaka – Wankulukuku

Express FC defeated Onduparaka by a 4-1 score in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match played at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku as they completed first ever league double against the Arua based club.

Allan Kayiwa put up a man of the match performance as he bagged a brace to add onto an early opener from Boban Zirintusa before Marvin Oshaba completed the scoring.

Gama William scored the only consolation goal for Onduparaka as they yet again continued to struggle in their fight to beat relegation.

Express FC were reduced to ten men as defender Derrick Ngobi was sent off for a reckless challenge against Rashid Yakini.

Express FC dominated play right away from the start and their efforts paid off when Rashid Yakini handed in the box but goalkeeper Mathias Okello stood up on his feet to deny the hosts as he saved the resulting penalty.

A dominant Express FC side looked not to stop and indeed their efforts finally paid off when Boban Zirintusa scored from a Derrick Ngobi assist to give the home side a deserved lead in the 23rd minute of the game.

The Caterpillars could only defend not to concede a second goal as the first stanza ended in 1-0 favour of Express FC.

With just ten minutes into the second half, defender Derrick Ngobi was shown matching orders for a reckless challenge on Rashid Yakini in the 56th minute.

Despite being reduced to ten men, Express FC looked not to cease fire as Allan Kayiwa opened up his scoring through a penalty beating goalkeeper Mathias Okello to double the red eagles lead in the 70th minute 

He later completed his brace in the 87th minute as he put the hosts in a deserved 3-0 lead before Marvin Oshaba completed the scoring in the 90+ minute.

William Gama pulled a goal back for the visitors in the last minute of the game but it was just a consolation for struggling Onduparaka.

Express FC have now managed to win their first league after failing to win a single in their last eleven League games, they now move to the 11th position on the log with 22 points.

Onduparaka FC are still fighting for survival which looks too far from them as they currently sit rock bottom on the table with just 10 points from 18 games played.
