FUFA Big league: Calvary hands Sam Ssimbwa first league loss, Police and Mbarara city share points

Table leaders Kitara FC lost to Calvary 2-1 in Yumbe Midigo Play Grounds on 26th March.

Micheal Kedi and Ronald Ogenga all appeared on the score sheet for Calvary while Jasper Aheebwa scored the only goal for Kitara.

Captain Ronald Owiny scored the opener in the 11th minute before  jasper Aheebwa equalised through a penalty kick in the 21 minute.

 In the 40th minute, Micheal Kedi sent the home fans into wide celebrations when he converted well thanks to a cross from Farouk katongole.

In the second half, Kitara intended to equalise but we’re denied by the tall defenders of Calvary.

Kitara came into the game with revenge moods after being eliminated by the same Calvary in Stanbic Uganda Cup in penalties (8-7) though they received an opposite result.

Sam Ssimbwa lost his first league game eversince he joined Kitara FC.

Despite a loss, Kitara remained on top with 43points only 2 points above the second team.

For Calvary, a win pushed them to 5th place with 33 points only 7 points below the 4th team Police FC.

In the other game, Police FC had a 1-1 draw with  Mbarara city at Kavumba Recreation grounds.

Ibrahim Thembo scored first for Mbarara city, however Police equalised matters through Emmanuel Mugume who scored a beauty of a free kick.

The results leaves Mbarara city in the 2nd place with 41 points while Police in the 4th place with 40 points.
