FUFA Big League: Top of the table clash as Kitara visit NEC FC in Bugolobi

The FUFA Big league continues to set up a tight race at the top of the table with the top four teams vying for promotion to the top flight division in Uganda football as just a point separating the table leaders Kitara FC on 37points from fourth placed Mbarara City on 36points.

As we get closer to the last ten league games, there is no room for error as all sights are now set to securing promotion, match day 20 will see the top of the table clash as NEC FC welcome Kitara at Bugolobi Coffee playgrounds.

NEC FC dropped points in their last league game but they walked home a happy side as they managed to secure a 1-1 draw against promotion contenders Mbarara City away from home.

The Micheal Lukyamuzi coached side are unbeaten at home but they face a huge task as they welcome Kitara FC who dominated their first leg meeting with a 2-0 win at Kigaaya playgrounds.

“The League is tight and every game comes with its own pressure. What we do is to prepare the players to go and fight for maximum points,” said Micheal Lukyamuzi

“It is our first season in the FUFA Big League but we have the ability to overcome any opponent and at the moment we are looking at game per game.” He added.

NEC will have to bank on the performances of club captain Kavuma Marvin, Kazibwe Magu, Oscar Ssesazi and Gideon Odongo who have had a wonderful season as they are eager to collect maximum points at home.

For Kitara FC, Sam Ssimbwa managed to pick his first win at his new side as they defeated Lugazi FC by a 1-0 score at home and this will be a huge boost as they look forward to a positive result away from home.

Sam Ssimbwa had to wait for three games before picking up his first win at his new side which hindered their chances of a clear promotion spot despite toping the table with 37 points same as second placed NEC FC and third placed Police FC.

Head coach Sam Ssimbwa has urge this team to add more on their goals they score and balance with better defending if they are to pick up a positive result.

“We need to hit the front better and harder. You saw in our last match we put up a better performance especially in the defence but we must add more goals to our game. That is crucial and we intend to going forward,” said Sam Ssimbwa

Despite possessing a better goal difference at the top of the log, Kitara FC have face problems Infront of goal eversince the departure of striker Patrick Kaddu as they have only managed to score three goals in the four games played in second round.

George Ssenkaaba and Edison Agondeze are tasked to up their game if they are to help Kitara FC pick maximum points in their bid to complete a double against NEC FC.
