Motorsport: Visit Bukedea Motor Rally launched, New rally dates confirmed

The Eastern Motorsport Club (EMC) has officially launched the Visit Bukedea Motor Rally which is the second event on the Federation of Motorsport Clubs (FMU) calendar year.

This was launched at Lake view hotel in Busabala as Easter Motor Club has opted to extend the rally to the far East in Bukedea and not in Busoga region as it has always been.

The EMC president Kees Kagolo who us also the organisation committee chairman of the Visit Bukedea Rally addressed the media on extending the Motorsport to the far East .

“We are happy that we are opening up the sport to the new area. The name of our Eastern motor club speaks for itself so we have a responsibility to take the sport to all parts of eastern Uganda,” said Kees Kagolo.

The Visit Bukedea Rally will usher in the CSR activity organised by the Easter Motor Club as the organisers will visit Bukedea Health centre to stand in support with people who are victims of accidents.

There will also be a sensitisation program on the issues of road safety for the people in areas of Missio, Kokoli, Kabarwa, Aminit, Aligoi, Kidongole were the rally cars will go through.

The Visit Bukedea Rally was initially set to take place on the weekend of 10th to 12th March but due to unavoidable circumstances, the organisers opted to push the rally to a new date of 31st March to the 2nd April.

The Rally will cover a total distance of 176.59 KM with the Liaison covering upto 36.24km which is the shortest rally ever on the FMU calendar.

The Eastern Motor Club in honour of the speaker of the parliament of Uganda Annet Anita Among who doubles as the Bukedea district woman MP have organised a special stage named after her in the Visit Bukedea Rally
