Wakiso Giants Vs Maroons: Ayala eager to bounce back to winning ways as they host Maroons

The Startimes Uganda Premier league match day 17 will see the purple sharks of Wakiso Giants host Maroons FC at Kabaka Kyabagu Stadium in Wakiso.

Wakiso Giants had their best performances in the first round of the league playing at home but eversince the return of second round, they have struggled as they are yet to win a game in second round.

The purple sharks lost at home against KCCA FC and later on played out to a goalless draw as they visited Vipers SC in Kitende, head coach John Luyinda Ayala has urged his team to get back in track as they face Maroons.

“In the last games, we haven’t created many goal scoring chances which hurt us and the intensity of how we must play went a little low but it’s time we get back on track.” said Ayala.

He remains positive of collecting maximum points at home despite facing an organised side of Maroons FC.

“We face a good side in Maroons but we are motivated by the need to bounce back and need to win for our wins as the last two games at home haven’t gone to plan.”

Wakiso Giants will still miss the services of Titus Ssematimba, Ronald Madoi and Apollo Kagogwe who are with Uganda Hippos in Egypt whereas Moses Aliro is ruled out as he is on road to recovery.

Maroons have had quite a better start in the second round of the league as they are yet to lose a game winning by a 1-0 against Busoga United and a goalless draw with Bright Stars, they come into the Wakiso tie with a huge boost of confidence after holding the purple sharks to a 0-0 draw in the first leg tie.

The prisons side have struggled to collect points away from home as they have only managed a single win on the road but they will have to rely on the services of striker Fred Amaku if at all they are to pick a positive result against Wakiso Giants.

Maroons are still missing the services of club captain David Ndihabwe and Sula Manga who are long term absentees, Belmos Opio is unavailable for the Wakiso tie after suffering an injury in the previous encounter.
