UPDF FC Vs BUL FC: Isabirye targets Maximum points against struggling UPDF FC

The Startimes Uganda Premier league returns on match day 17 with a couple of fixtures, we Ind placed BUL FC target maximum points against struggling UPDF FC to close in the top of the table gap.

BUL FC sit second on the table with just four points behind table leaders KCCA FC and win will see them close in the gap to just a single point before the Kasasiro boys play their game on Friday.

The Jinja based side head coach Alex Isabirye expressed his readiness for his club to collect maximum points as they hunt for the first win in second round.

“I know they are going to put up a very good fight,” Isabirye noted

“But we are also looking to see that we get those three points, I know the game won’t be easy but we are ready and I think we shall win it.” said Alex Isabirye

BUL FC played out to a one all draw against Blacks Power in their first game of the second round at FIFA technical centre in Njeru but they come into the UPDF game with a boosted performance of eliminating SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup by a 1-0 score.

Goalkeeper Saidi Keni remains positive of collecting maximum points away from despite BUL FC struggling to play from away as they have only managed two wins away from home.

“As players we are prepared for the game against UPDF. They are strong team but basing on our performance in the previous games, we are good to go and every player is ready to give 100%.“ said Saidi Keni.

In UPDF FC, they face a side which has struggled with consistency throughout the season which has seen them only manage two home wins in the 16 games they have played in the league.

A poor run of performance saw UPDF FC being eliminated in the Uganda Cup by regional league side Bunyaruguru United but they will have to embark on a better home head to head advantage of they are to avoid a double loss against BUL FC.

UPDF command a better head to head against BUL at their home in Bombo where they have won 3 games and just losing two with BUL FC’s last win away against UPDF coming in 2017/2018 season.

BUL FC managed to win the reverse fixture 3-1 at their home in Njeru with goals from Karim Ndugwa, Frank Kalanda and Richard Wandyaka.

For Team News, UPDF FC are still struggling to complete the fully registration of goalkeeper Martin Ssenkooto and is ruled out due to license issues whereas Pius Kaggwa and Abasi Kyeyune remain sidelined due to recurring injuries.

The Brian Ssenyondo coached side welcomes back Okello Donato from injury after missing their last two previous games and he is ready for selection.

BUL FC will be without goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa, George Kasonko, Pascal Ngobi and Reagan Kalyowa who are sidelined due to injuries whereas Douglas Muganga is out due to yellow card accumulation.
