Stanbic Uganda Cup: Otti powers BUL FC past resilient SC Villa as Kisugu shoots out Paidah

Ronald Otti scored the only goal of the game as defending champions BUL FC eliminated resilient SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 match played at FUFA technical centre in Njeru.

BUL FC looked to be the better side on the day as they dominated the game from the start and it paid off with and early goal just with six minutes into the game.

Ronald Otti scored from a powerful header as he connected with a well taken corner by Ibrahim Mugulusi to put the home side ahead as early as the 6th minute.

Ibrahim Kazindula and Samuel Ssekamate had a couple of chances to double BUL FC’s lead but they failed to find the target as all their efforts were saved.

SC Villa had all their focus set to attacking in search for an equaliser and they came close with a well guided header from Kenneth Ssemakula hitting the cross bar in the 19th minute.

Striker Charles Bbaale also had his shot hit the woodwork with just two minutes to full time as SC Villa failed to find an equaliser hence seeing an early end to their journey in the Uganda cup.

The other game on the day saw Kampala regional league side Kisugu United shootout Paidah Black Angels by a 4-3 score after playing out to a 1-1 draw at Bugolobi Coffee playgrounds.

Matovu Bob scored for Kisugu United in the first half of the game before Paidah scored a late equaliser to send the game into penalties which they later lost after missing two from the five taken.
