Mahad Kayondo: Ugandan Striker joins Romania top tier side Steaua Bucuresti

Ugandan forward Mahad ‘Mahrez’ Kayondo has completed a move to Romanian top tier side  Clubul Sportiv al Armatei  Steaua Bucuresti. The most successful club in the country.

The striker was unveiled to the fans alongside Cosmin Chocolate as both players have put pen to paper on six month employment contracts.

Mahad Kayondo has been given Shirt number 89 and he started with fire scoring a brace in his debut buildup duel whereas Cosmin Chocolate will Don number 97.

He has been with several stints in Romania  with  clubs like  ACS Poli in 2018 upto 2020, CSC Ghiroda and CSM Deva.

In Uganda, Mahrez Kayondo only featured for Big league side Ndejje university FC.

Kayondo a 24 year old striker is a brother to Uganda Cranes left back Aziz kayondo.

His new club is the most successful club in Romania with trophies over 40, the Romania cup (20), league titles (20), one UEFA champions league (1985- 1986) and one UEFA Super cup (1986).

Steaua Bucuresti has a football stadium named  Stadionul Steaua with a capacity of 31, 254. 

The club was founded in 1947 based in Romania’s capital city  Bucuresti.

Currently Steaua Bucuresti features in the Second league of Romania and is on top with 33 points from 16 games only 2 points above the Second team Lasi.
