The Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 continues with a double fixture as we are yet to witness any upset as the expected teams to make it to the round of 16 have already booked their slots.

The Ankole regional league side Bunyaruguru United have expressed their readiness and eager to upset Uganda Premier league side UPDF FC.

Bunyaruguru United head coach Sam Kamurinde expressed how important the game is and what it means to his side as he looks forward to writing history through seeing his side make the round of 16.

“We are prepared for such a big Stanbic Uganda Cup game which is historical in this district I think.”

“Our opponents are a big and experienced team in Uganda with good coaches and players but we are ready to face them tomorrow.” said Coach Sam Kamurinde.

Bunyaruguru United managed to eliminate Big league side Kaaro Karungi by a 2-0 score in the round of 64 tie and they remain hopeful for more of the suprise results as they face off with UPL side UPDF FC.

Bunyaruguru captain Andy Mufumba has urged his teammates to put up a fighting spirit as they take on UPDF FC though he dubs the challenge as more tougher one than the one against Kaaro Karungi.

“We are ready for the challenge I know it is not easy to face such a team but I believe we can upset them.”

“I believe that there is no much difference between us and them because you can play in the super league today and tomorrow play in the regional league and vice versa,” said Andy Mufumba

UPDF FC have faced a challenging season in the Startimes Uganda Premier league as they have only managed to pick up two wins from the 15 games played and currently sit 13 on the log just a place above the relegation zone.

They struggled to progress to the round of 16 in the Uganda Cup and only needed a 4-1 penalty shootout to eliminate Western region side Bushenyi Veterans after a goalless draw.

The other game on the day will see Buganda regional league side Kiyinda Boys take on Kigezi Homeboys at Mityana Saza grounds.

Kiyinda Boys will have to bank on the positivity of eliminating Uganda Premier league side Gaddafi FC to see off a challenging match against Kigezi Homeboys who on the other hand saw off Big league side Booma FC.
