Uganda Premier league side Wakiso Giants eliminated Blacks Power in the in the Stanbic Uganda cup round of 32 match played at Akii Bua Stadium in Lira.
The purple sharks needed to wait for the penalty shootouts to seal a place in the round of 16 after playing out to a goalless draw and progressing after a 6-5 score.
The purple sharks dominated the game as they created a couple of goal scoring opportunities but they failed to find a cutting edge Infront of goal.
Blacks Power looked to have done their homework better as they defended as team to avoid conceding early goals which strengthened their mentality playing Infront of their home crowd.
The Lira based side had a chance to see them selves through to the next round but they couldn’t capitalise on the penalty miss by defender Paul Willa for Wakiso Giants as they went on to miss two penalties.
Norman Orjik, Rahman Ssenfuka, Tom Masiko, Hassan Ssenyonjo, George Kaddu and Alex Komakech made sure they put their penalties in the right spots to help Wakiso Giants progress to the round of 16.
