Former Uganda Cranes Skipper becomes New York Red Bulls ii head Coach

Former Uganda Cranes skipper Ibrahim Ssekagya has been named as the new head Coach of New York Red Bulls II.

Ibrahim Ssekagya replaces Gary Lewis who parted ways with the club in July 2022.

Before becoming the head coach, Ssekagya has been acting as the interim Coach from July last year.

Sporting Director Dennis Hamlett has Praised Ssekagya’s Contribution towards the Development of the club.

” Ibrahim Ssekagya has played a crucial role in development of Red Bulls II in addition to his Success as a player with the Main Club “.

” We all know he will Continue his hard work and Dedication to improve in every facet of the club”.

Ibrahim Ssekagya expressed his happiness as becoming the head coach.

” lam thrilled to Continue my Journey with the New York Red Bulls Organization and lead New York Red Bulls II to Success “.

” l can’t wait to get this Season started and show all the work that have been done this winter to put a well balanced Squad on the pitch” .

In Club History, Ssekagya has become the third Head coach to take on.

Ssekagya has had his stay at the Club Eversince he retired from active football in 2015, However he has been there as assistant head coach.

He started playing football in 1992 in KCCA FC , However he didn’t stay much in Uganda.

He had stints in Countries like Argentina where he featured for teams like Atletico de Rafaela, Ferro Carill Oeste, Metropolitana and Arsenal de Saranda.

Other Countries were Austria where he featured for giants Red Bull Salzburg.
