Stanbic Uganda Cup: Vipers shoots out Bujumbura United

Vipers SC struggled to overcome Hoima based side Bujumbura United as they played out to a goalless draw and only need the penalties to progress to the round of 32.

The Venoms managed to progress to the round of 32 after a 4-1 penalty shootout against Bujumbura United as new head coach Beto Bianchi tasted the tougher times on his debut match.

Bright Anukani, Disan Galiwango, Ahmed Desire Tety and Ashraf Mandela scored the 4 penalties for the Venoms as they eliminated the Hoima based side at Kibajwa Primary School playground.

Vipers SC have embarked on their journey to return to Uganda cup final having lost to BUL FC last season. 

In the other game played,  Big league side Jinja North  United FC knocked out Busei  FC in penalties 6-5 after a 3-3 draw in the normal time at Iganga Saza ground.

Vipers SC and Jinja North united have joined other teams like BUL FC, Ndejje university FC, Admn FC,  kitara FC,  Junior cEagles FC, Pajule lions and Blue stars FC who already booked their spots on the Round of 32.

Action will resume Today 1st Feb with two games
