BY JUMA KRUZ

Uganda Cranes departed on the  1st January to Tunisia to further preparations of the upcoming CHAN tournament in Algeria starting on the 13th January 2023.

Vipers captain Milton Kariisa spoke to the Media and confirmed the pressure they are facing ahead of the CHAN tournament.

“There is always a weight of pressure but we’re not desperate .it doesn’t go your way when you get desperate”

“We have to learn how to manage our pressure and expose our abilities. We shall fight for every possible point,” said the captain Milton Kariisa.

Uganda is the only county to have got involved in the last 5 previous CHAN tournaments, 2011 in Sudan, 2014 in South Africa, 2016 in Rwanda, 2018 in Morocco, 2020 in Cameroon though their performance has not been convincing as they have  failed to qualify out of the group stages with only one win registered in that period.

However Kariisa remains hopefully that Uganda Cranes will shine in this CHAN tournament .

“We played in the previous tournaments and  didn’t manage to qualify out of the group stages but this is another opportunity for us.”

“l believe this time round we’re going to make it. Every team that qualifies here is good, we are also a good team.”

Uganda Cranes is placed in group B with teams like Ivory Coast, Senegal and neighbours DR Congo,it is expected to have Friendless in Tunisia before the tournament kick offs including Mali, Sudan,  Cameroon and Lausanne FC of Switzerland.
