KCCA FC seek to bounce back at the top of the log as they host Express

The first Kampala Derby to be held in Kampala in the 2022/2023 UPL season will see KCCA FC seek top of the table resumption as they welcome Express FC at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

KCCA FC who staged an impressive run of six games unbeaten which saw them claim bragging rights at the top of the log with 22 points were earlier leap frogged by Vipers and BUL FC who currently sit in the 1st and 2nd spot with 23 points respectively just a point above the Lugogo based side in third place.

The Kasasiro boys will fancy their chances of reclaiming top spot as they host struggling Express who have lost their last three league games. 

KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has expressed how eager they are to win a game of high magnitude Infront of their home crowd.

“It is a derby and such games are of a huge magnitude. We know what is at stake and we want to win. If we focus on playing well, we know the results will come. We need to focus on our principles and if we get that right on the day then we shall win.” said Morley Byekwaso.

Express FC who had quiet a better start in the league, have went on to lose the last three league games as they are fighting with squad balancing which has seen them create few scoring chances after losing their key player Allan Kayiwa who suffered an injury.

They lost 2-0 against Bright Stars, 3-2 against Wakiso Giants and recently losing at home by a 1-0; defeat against Arua Hill.

They face a huge task as they visit KCCA FC at their home ground in Lugogo where they are yet to lose a game in the league.

KCCA FC Vs Express – MTN Omondi Stadium (4:00 pm)
