Vipers SC will travel to Jinja to face off with Gaddafi FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match at Kakindu stadium with a target of collecting maximum points to move top of the table.
A win for Vipers will see them move to the top of the table surpassing current leader KCCA FC who sit top with 22 points after 10 games as the Kitende based side sit third on 20 points collected from nine games played.
Vipers SC endured a slow start in the league as they dropped seven points from the possible 12 they would have collected in their first four games, they have went on to stage a massive performance which has seen them win their last five league games without conceding a goal.
The head coach Roberto Oliviera has urged his side to carry on with consistency as it was last season which saw them being crowned Champions.
“It’s very important that we repeat the consistency of last season because it helps the players. It’s very difficult to play every three days.”
Vipers SC have had a huge fixture in the month of November where they have played seven games in order to catch up with other teams due their participation in the CAF champions League.
The Kitende based side went on to win six games and draw once but have suffered with injuries as games have been coming every after three days.
“We need change because we’ve lost two or three players to injury because of the fast – coming games. It’s a chance to give opportunities to other players for example Karim Watambala and Cromwell Rwothomio who haven’t played enough.”
“I think step by step, Cromwel is improving, playing well and doing better than before.” said Roberto Oliviera.
Cromwell Rwothomio is expected to set in for injured talisman Yunus Ssentamu who has been instrumental in their winning run scoring four goals in the last two games.
Gaddafi FC have seen a tougher start under new head coach Wasswa Bbosa as they have only win 3 games, drawing 3 and losing three from the nine games they have played.
They come into the Vipers game after dropping points in a 2-1 loss against KCCA FC in their previous game away from home.
The soldier boys are yet to lose a game at home but their low scoring rate may affect them as they face high performing Vipers SC.
