Express FC defeat Onduparaka behind closed doors

Onduparaka 1-2 Express FC – Bimbo military playgrounds

Express FC registered a vital 2-1 away win against Onduparaka in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match played at Bombo military playgrounds.

Marvin Oshaba and Daniel Shabena scored for the red eagles as they picked maximum points away from home. Emmanuel Oketch scored the only goal for Onduparaka.

Express FC dominated the game from the start with a couple of goal scoring opportunities but Joseph Akandwanaho and Ivan Mayanja couldn’t beat goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga.

Marcin Oshaba opened the scoring for Express FC in the 35th minute as he tapped in from close range when goalkeeper in Muwanga is beaten.

The hosts Onduparaka tried much to settle back into the game as they searched for an equaliser but they failed to penetrate through a well organized Express defence.

In the last minutes to full time, Daniel Shabena doubled the visitors lead as he beat Muwanga to score the second goal for Express FC in the 90th minute.

Emmanuel Oketch pulled a goal back as he scored from the penalty after Aluma Musa was fouled in the forbidden area in the 94th minute.

Onduparaka are still serving their five match ban playing behind closed doors as fans are not allowed and also on a neutral ground were on the losing end as they suffered their first league loss.

Despite losing their first game, the caterpillars are experiencing a poor form as they are yet to win a game in the league, they have managed to pick three draws from their last three games.

Express FC  move to the second position on the table with 8points and they will take  a one week nrest before hosting BUL FC in their next league fixture at Wankulukuku.

Onduparaka will take a long trip to the Eastern part of Uganda to face BUL FC on the second day of the new month.
