2022/2023 Uganda Netball Women Super League Launched

The Uganda Netball Federation through its Competitions Department have on Wednesday Morning Launched the biggest local Netball Showpiece in a press bressing at their offices in Old Kampala.


The Prestigious Uganda Netball Women Super League returns for the 2022/2023 Season with a better strategy towards the main aim of growing the game.


Kakande Micheal the Competitions Head at the Uganda Netball Federation says their are some steps taken from the resolutions in the last Annual General Assembly that are going to be considered enroute to professionalising the game.


Only 12 Teams will play in this edition,initially 14 teams were supposed to tussle out for the silver coated trophy but Air force and KBK Netball Clubs fall short of a License after failing to meet the Minimum requirements.


The 12 teams include defending Champions NIC,KCCA,PRISONS,POSTA,WEYONJE,UCU,LUWEERO UGX,UPDF,POLICE,MUTELX LIFE SPORT,BUSIA GREATER LIONS & AFRICAN RENEWAL UNIVERSITY.


Old Kampala Arena,Newly built TLC Kamwokya,Busia Grounds and Uganda Military owned Bombo Barracks Playgrounds are the Four Grounds to be used by all Clubs during this Season.


To attack field of Play,A coach will have to hold a Certified UNF License,a Level Three License for Umpires and A seasonal License for Players that will be croosschecked every before GameDay by the Officials in Charge.


Growing the game requires Funds and as per this belief, the Competitions Department has introduced a Cover Charge for One to access the Workout.


A Spectator will be required to move with Four Thousand Ugandan Shillings (4,000) in order to watch all the 4 games scheduled for the day,in that case a game will cost One Thousand Ugandan Shillings.


The Uganda Netball Federation will take a 20 percentage of the gate Collections as the rest of the amounts will be shared by the hosting Clubs of the day.Gate Collections imply on three playgrounds excluding the Bombo Barracks Playgrounds which is a military entity.


For the inconvenienced,Some games will be Live on Lungujja based Salt Television airing on DSTV channel 343.
The Prestigious showpiece will throw off on Saturday 24th September 2022 at TLC Kamwokya with two fixtures as Posta Netball Club will Play Africa Renewal University at 2pm before newly promoted Multilex Life Sport battles Uganda Christian University in the other game.


Officials from the Uganda Netball Federation have hinted about a huge League Sponsorship deal and also pledged prize monies to all participating teams.
