KCCA and Allan Okello are responsible for his unsuccessful professional career- Mike Mutebi

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club’s ex manager Mike Mutebi thinks that both the club and Allan Okello are to blame for the unsuccessful professional football spell for Okello.

Mike Mutebi was in fact surprised to know that Okello is back at KCCA.

While speaking to a reporter from Football 256, Mutebi said that Okello had to spend at least another year with the Kasasiro boys.

This would have made him more prepared for professional football.

However, both him and the club decided to hurriedly take up the opportunity soon as it came knocking on the door without thinking through it thoroughly as they wanted the money so badly.

Mike Mutebi however added that the player still has a lot of room to improve and rediscover his form to the scintillating player he was and promised to be.

“Is he back?” a surprised Mutebi asked a reporter from Football 256 when contacted for a comment on Okello’s return to KCCA.

“I blame all that on the club (KCCA) and the player himself (Okello)
.
“He was supposed to wait for at least another year before leaving in the first place but KCCA and Okello were impatient because they wanted the money.”

“But there is a lot to learn for him given the situation that he is in right now because everything is all about character.”

“He has been challenged but he is still young and there is a chance for him to re-establish himself for a way forward,” he added.

Allan Okello who had been playing for the KCCA junior team from 2015 earned a promotion to the senior side under Mike Mutebi in 2017.

He however departed the Lugogo based side in January 2020 to Algerian side AC Paradou.

However, things haven’t turned out rosy as expected in the North African country.

Okello failed to cement himself in the starting team and struggled for playing time.

It had been expected that he would transfer to Europe especially France through Paradou which has sold a number of players there.

However, Okello will have a second chance to establish himself to the player he once was while at KCCA for this season.
