Gulu, Uganda – After an action packed weekend in Jinja last time out, the fourth circuit of the Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series presented by Red Rhino Sports heads North to Gulu City.
Northern Uganda has always been considered an untapped basketball golf mine and we are eager to see what talent they have on show.
With each circuit attracting more teams and spectators, the Gulu City stop of the series is set to elevate the competition further as the it moves nationwide in search of the best talents to tussle it out in the National Finals that will be held in December.
Team Grim Reapers (Men), Team Clan (Men) and Team 3-Peat (Ladies) qualified for the grand finale from the first Kampala Circuit while Team Ntare PickUp (Men), Mbarara University Hoopers (Ladies) qualified from the Mbarara Circuit and Team VBL (Men) Team Assassins (Ladies) qualified from the Jinja circuit.
The Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series is comprised of 7 qualifying stops that climax in the 8th and Final Stop in Kampala where a total of 12 men’s teams and 8 ladies’ teams will compete for a grand prize of UGX Two Million shillings in each category.
Prize money in the qualifying circuits is UGX 400,000 for the winning men and ladies teams and UGX 200,000 for the RunnerUps in both categories. In addition there are individual prizes of UGX 100,000 for the MVP, Top Scorer and Best Rebounders.
In addition to the excitement on the court, fans can also win fantastic prizes, including headphones, bags, and books, courtesy of Mountain Dew.
