Olympics 2024 (Men’s Football): Spain Outclasses Morocco to reach finals, France edge Egypt for a gold medal hope.

Monday results Men’s Football (Semifinals).

Morocco 1-2 Spain.

France 3-1 Egypt (AET).

Spain, France raised their hopes for a golden medal hope after they edged African Super Powers Morocco and Egypt respectively.

Spain had to use maximum energy to come a goal down to overcome Morocco.

Morocco scored first through their striker Soufiane Rahimi in the 37th minute.

La masia academy graduate Fermin Lopez levelled matters in the 66th minute before providing for the winner to Juanlu Sanchez in the 85th minute.

In the other Semifinal game, France edged Egypt in extra time to reach finals.

The game had ended 1-1 in normal time that called for extra time but an early red card booking to Egypt made it difficult for the African giant.

M Saber scored first for Egypt in the 62nd minute.

With 7 minutes to full time, Crystal palace’s forward Jean Philippe Mateta equalised thanks to a lovely pass from Michael Olise.

O Fayed of Egypt was shown marching orders in the 92nd minute after receiving a second booking.

Jean Philippe Mateta doubled the lead for France in the 99th minute before Michael Olise completed the scoring in the 108 minute.

The results meant, Spain will be taking on France in finals of the Paris Olympics men’s Football 2024.
