The Uganda Skating Federation in partnership with Entebbe City Rollers (ECR) have organised the 2024 East Africa Speed Skating Marathon which is set to take place on 10th August in Entebbe.
The East Africa Speed Skating Marathon is the first of kind to take place in Uganda under the theme ‘Safety First’ with all participants urged to wear safety gears.
According to the organisers of the marathon, they have put in place lots of prizes to be won which include trophies, medals and cash prizes ranging from $150 USD upto $1000 USD.
This being the first marathon in Uganda, we have faced some challenges as the organisers but we take this opportunity to thank the Uganda Skating Federation and Entebbe Municipality for helping us in organising this event.” said Himran Sserumaga.
Over 100 participants from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi have registered to take part in the upcoming marathon at a fee of $14 USD.
