Cricket Cranes flagged off to the T20 World Cup

Cricket Cranes have officially been flagged off to the West Indies and USA for the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup.

This is the inaugural world cup tournament for team Uganda in the T20 Cricket and they are expected to touch base in West Indies on Friday.

Minister of state for sports Peter Ogwang alongside NCS general Secretary Benard Patrick Ogwel did the honours to send off team Uganda at an event held at Cooper Chimney in Lugogo.

A squad of 15 players and two reserves will represent the nation after undergoing serious preparations where they had a two weeks bootcamp in Jinja followed by a 12 day training camp at Omtex I Can We Can Cricket Institute in saphale, Mumbai India.

The Cricket Cranes also took part in the All Africa games in Accra in Ghana where they managed to win Bronze boosting their preparations for the T20 World Cup.

Uganda is under the guidance of former Indian first class cricketer Abhay Dharma as the head coach and will be in charge for their first game against Afghanistan on June 4th in Guyana.
