Fortebet Real star Monthly Awards: Students affair as Mutebi, Niyoyita win March accolades

A double students affair as Hakim Mutebi of St. Marys Kitende and Davis Niyoyita of Kakungulu Memorial School were crowned best performers in March at the Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards event held at Lazio Restaurant in Kololo.

In rugby, Namabiro beat both Norbert Okeny and Peace Lekuru to the March accolade at the Lazio Restaurant on Tuesday morning.

The Lady Rugby Cranes Sevens star helped her side finish fourth in the third round of the HSBC Challengers Series in Montevideo with a total of four trys.

There after in Accra, Ghana, she helped Uganda secure Gold on her first appearance in the games scoring six trys clinching woman of the tournament performance.

In Football, Hakim Mutebi heroics at the just concluded All Africa Games in Ghana beat competition from Usama Arafat Kizza and Queen Cranes’ Catherine Nagadya to secure the March Accolade.

The young senior Four(4) student from St Mary’s Boarding School received his award with an envelope .

Uganda Hippos contributed to the team’s silver at the All Africa games in the different games including the 4-2 comeback against Congo.

Serial winner Husina Kobugabe came out on top in Badminton
after collecting two medals which included a silver medal for Uganda in All Africa Games after losing to South Africa’s Johanita Scholtz 2-1 and also returning to the podium for a gold with her patner in the doubles, Gladys Mbabazi.

To win the Gold, Kobugabe and Mbabazi teamed up in the women’s double to beat Algeria’s duo 2-0.

Another S4 student, Davis Niyoyita from Kakungulu Memorial SS won the Weightlifting award beating off the competition from his school mate, Lydia Nakidde and Steven Ojeke.

Niyoyita won three medals for Uganda at the All Africa Games in two silvers and won bronze.

Silver came from Clean and Jerk carrying 120 kg in 55kg category and bronze from snatch with a weight of 90kg while his second silver came from his second position over-all behind Madagascars Eric Adrian.
