SUPL: URA, BUL share spoils, Maroons, Kitara FC plays a goalless draw

URA FC 1-1 BUL FC – Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

Maroons FC 0-0 Kitara FC – Luzira Prison Grounds.

Soltilo Bright Stars 1-1 Mbarara City FC – Kavumba Recreation Grounds.

BUL FC failed to win their first away game in the second round of Uganda Premier league when they drew with URA 1-1 at Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

Inform Norman Namanya grabbed an early lead for the tax collectors in the first minute capitalising from a mistake of right back Nicholas Mwere who played a blind pass only to reach Nomanya’s feet only to chip Tom Ikara who wasn’t on his line.

BUL FC replied in the 21st minute, through Amos Kirya after URA FC ‘s custodian Rogers Omedwa failed to deal with a long cross from Nicholas Mwere.

The results left BUL in the second place with 39 points while URA to seventh place with 31 points.

Elsewhere at Prison Grounds, Luzira Maroons FC played out a goalless draw with Kitara FC.

The biggest moment for the hosts came in the closing minutes when Denis Omedi took a free kick only to hit a woodwork.

The results left Kitara FC at top of the table with 40 points from 20 games, Maroons remained fourth with 21 points.

At Kavumba Recreation Grounds, Soltilo Bright Stars played out a 1-1 draw with Mbarara City FC.

Sharif Nsereko scored first in the 3rd minute before Henry Kitegenyi equalised in the 42nd minute through a penalty kick.

The results left Soltilo Bright Stars in the 11th place with 24 points from 20 games while Mbarara 10th with 24 points.
