Stanbic Uganda Cup: Vipers ease past Iganga Young

Vipers SC 3-0 Iganga Young FC – St Mary’s Kitende.

Defending champions of Stanbic Uganda Cup Vipers SC reached quarter finals of this year’s edition after edging regional side Iganga Young on a 3-0 score at St Mary’s Kitende.

Right from the start, Vipers had a great show as they constantly had chances but Iganga Young custodian was worth challenge to delay them an opener.

Fumador, Allan Okello and Milton Karisa had chances to grab an opener for Vipers but all failed to convert.

In the 35th minute, Fumador was fouled and Vipers were given a penalty which Abdul Karim Watambala took with ease.

Salem Mohamed Ekbad doubled the lead just 5 minutes into second half before Fazil Tumwine completed the score in the 72nd minute.

At the touchline, Vipers head coach Livingston Mbabazi was no where to be seen as Vipers replied on their X page that the gaffer is suffering from Malaria.

Vipers joins other teams on the stage including BuL FC, Kitara FC, KCCA FC, Police FC, Pajule Lions, NEC FC.
