KCCA FC completes double over rivals Vipers

Vipers SC 0-1 KCCA FC – St Mary’s Kitende.

BUL FC 0-1 SC Villa – FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.

It was a day not to forget for the two best teams in records of Uganda Premier league as they won their respective matches over their rivals .

KCCA FC edged Vipers SC on a 1-0 score at St Mary’s Kitende.

Vipers were harmed by the injury of Yunus Sentamu in the 23rd minute who was replaced by Mohammed Salem Ekbad.

Little seperated both sides though KCCA FC proved a better side in pocessing.

The late drama came in the closing minutes when Ashraf Mandela ball handled in the box area only for the referee to award a penalty for the visitors.

Second half substitute Mostafa Kizza who had replaced Etienne Katenga stood up for the responsibility and easily took it in to earn KCCA FC maximum points.

It has to be remembered that KCCA FC was completing a double over Vipers for the first time in the last 10 years, the first game of the tie ended 3-0 in favour of KCCA FC.

The results left Vipers in the 5th place with 35 points that is 8 points below table leaders Kitara FC despite playing two less games.

KCCA FC remained 10th on the log with 29 points from 20 games.

Elsewhere in Jinja, SC Villa edged BUL FC on a 1-0 score which was the second consecutive loss for the oil manufacturers.

David Owori scored the only goal for SC Villa on the day.

Gavin Kizito was given marching orders after he denied a goal scoring opportunity for BUL FC by his hands.

BUL FC were given a penalty which Ibrahim Kazindula didn’t convert.

The results left BUL FC in the second place with 39 points from 21 games while SC Villa moved fourth on 36 points from 19 games.
