SUPL: Wakiso Giants edge URA as UPDF, NEC share spoils in Bombo

Wakiso Giants 1-0 URA FC – Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

UPDF FC 2-2 NEC FC – Bombo Military Grounds.

Wakiso Giants picked up their first win in the Startimes Uganda Premier league second round when they edged URA FC on a 1-0 scoshre at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

It’s URA FC who had many chances but couldn’t convert any as Wakiso Giants goalkeeper Bashir Sekagya had a good day.

Kenneth Kimera scored in the lonely goal for the Purple Sharks.

The results saw Wakiso Giants move to 20 points in 12th place while URA FC remained 7th on 17 points.

Elsewhere, UPDF FC played out a 2-2 draw with NEC FC at Bombo Military Grounds.

It was UPDF who broke the deadlock first in the 41st minute through Bashir Kabuye.

NEC equalised in the 60th minute through Marvin Kavuma before Cromwell Rwothomio doubled the lead 5 minutes later.

UPDF FC then leveled matters in the 72nd minute through Christopher Kanbuga.

The results saw UPDF FC remain 15th on 10 points while NEC FC pushed to 4th place on 31points.

Action will resume on 14th of February as Mbarara City will be taking on Busoga United FC.
