Uganda Premier league side NEC FC progressed through to round of 16 in Stanbic Uganda Cup after edging Acholi United on a 5-1 score at MTN Omondi Stadium.
Right from the start, Acholi United was not a perfect match for NEC as the best they could do was to concede as little goals as 5.
Joseph Dhata scored an Hattrick for NEC FC before captain Marvin Kavuma as well Gadafi Wahab added the two.
Meanwhile David Otim banged the consolation for the visitors in the second half.
NEC FC joins other Giants on the stage including, Vipers SC, Express FC, BUL FC, SC Villa, Busoga United, Soltilo Bright Stars, Young Simba FC, KCCA FC, Pajule Lions, Kitara FC, Iganga Young FC, Dove FC and Police FC.
NEC FC will now shift focus to Uganda Premier league where they will host KCCA FC at MTN Omondi Stadium on 28th of Feb.
They are currently fourth on the Uganda Premier league with 31 points, 6 behind table leaders BUL FC.
