Wakiso Giants defeat KCCA FC to end UPL first round in style

NEC FC 2-1 Arua hills – MTN Omondi Stadium.

BUL FC 1-1 Mbarara City FC – FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Wakiso Giants picked up maximum points on KCCA FC on match day 15 at their home Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

The game ended 2-1 in favour of Wakiso Giants which left many surprised because of the good form KCCA FC came with before the game.

Wakiso Giants coach John Luyinda was facing his former masters Abdullah Mubiru and it was a good test to him.

Wakiso Giants looked, organized, composed and determined than KCCA FC in the game.

Wakiso Giants broke the deadlock first in the 24th minute through Kimera Kenneth who had stolen possession from KCCA FC’S defender Rogers Atube.

In the 60th minute, Wakiso Giants got the second through Samson Kigezi who volleyed in past KCCA FC’S goalkeeper Derrick Ochan thanks to a beauty of a free kick from Tom Matsiko.

Ashraf Mugume pulled one back for KCCA FC but it lately turned to be a consolation.

The results saw Wakiso Giants move out from relegation to 12th place with 16 points.

KCCA FC remained 9th with 19 points.

Elsewhere Table leaders BUL FC dropped points for the second time after their 1-1 draw with Mbarara City FC at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

Gerald Ogweti scored for BUL FC while Joseph Akandwanaho scored in for Mbarara City FC.

Express FC edged Gaddafi FC on a 3-0 score while NEC got back to winning ways when they edged Arua hills on a 2-1 score at MTN Omondi Stadium.
