University Football League: KIU defeat Busitema to move second

KIU 1-0 Busitema University.

Kampala International University edged Busitema in group B on a 1-0 score.

KIU came into the game third on 4 points and a win saw them displace Busitema in the second position to go on 7 points.

Busitema started the better side, creating and dominating the game but couldn’t find an early opener.

Later KIU picked momentum and came back into the game.

In the 35th minute Jazz 10 of KIU was fouled down in the box area and the Referee had to option than to award a penalty.

Captain of KIU, Kalyango Simon took the responsibility and earned the hosts a lead in the 36th minute.

The game was later interfered by rain in the second half and the Referee called off the game though later resumed the play.

The results left Busitema in the third place with 5 points.

KIU will have to travel to KUMI in their last game while Busitema will be hosting UCU in their last game.

KIU will only aim for a point to seal qualification to Knockout stage.
