SUPL: Amaku brace sinks KCCA FC in Lugogo lights

KCCA FC 1-2 Maroons FC – MTN Omondi Stadium.

Mbarara City FC 0-0 Vipers SC – Kakyeka Stadium.

KCCA FC again suffered their second consecutive league defeat to Maroons at home MTN Omondi Stadium.

KCCA FC lost to Maroons on a 2-1 score in a game they looked to have gave out their best including missing a penalty kick.

Fred Amaku opened the score for Maroons in the 26th minute following KCCA FC’S goalkeeper Juma Mutebi passing hawler.

Mohammed Shaban equalised for KCCA FC in the 45th minute after Maroons FC’s players failed to clear the ball that was from the corner kick.

As the game resumed in the second half being 50/50 Maroons could get a winner in the 70th minute but Peter Magambo made a goal line clearance to keep his side into the game.

Minutes later, KCCA FC were awarded with a penalty after an hand ball in the forbidable area.

Usama Arafat took the responsibility, however he couldn’t put it in as his effort hit a cross bar.

In the 80th minute, Maroons were awarded with a free kick which they utilised well to score their winner.

Tusubira forced Juma Mutebi a save but the rebounder was easily taken in by Fred Amaku.

KCCA tried to look for the equaliser but Mohammed Senfuma’s coached side defended their lead so well.

It was the second consecutive league defeat for KCCA FC who lost their opening game to BUL FC

Meanwhile, they were also eliminated in CAF Confederations Cup by Libya’s Abu Salim on aggregate 5-4.

KCCA FC will get back in action on 8th October as they will be hosting Express FC at MTN Omondi Stadium.
